NISSAN Production, Sales and Export Results for June 2010
and the First Half of CY2010

 

(July 27, 2010) - Nissan Motor Co.,Ltd., today announced its production, sales and export results for June 2010 and for the first half of calendar year 2010 (January-June period).

1. Production

June

Nissan's global production in June increased 38.8% year-on-year to 354,425 units marking an all-time record for a single month.

 

Production in Japan increased 28.6% year-on-year to 100,471 units due to increased output of the new Juke and exports of models such as Murano and Rogue.

 

Production outside of Japan saw an increase of 43.2% year-on-year to 253,954 units marking an all-time record for a single month.

 

In the U.S., production increased 43.2% year-on-year to 41,219 units due to increased demand for Altima, Maxima and Frontier.

 

In Mexico, production increased 41.3% year-on-year to 45,966 units due to increased demand for Tiida.

 

In the U.K., production increased 23.0% year-on-year to 39,620 units due to increased demand for Qashqai.

 

In Spain, production increased 36.7% year-on-year to 9,098 units due to increased demand for the newly introduced NV200.

 

In China, production increased 46.6% year-on-year to 91,476 units marking an all-time record for the month of June.

 

Production in other regions was up by 81.0% year-on-year to 26,575 units due to increased output in Thailand, where production of the new March started in March.

 

First half: January-June

Nissan's global production in January-June increased 61.9% year-on-year to 1,930,103 units.

 

In Japan, domestic production increased 59.5% year-on-year to 550,031 units due to increased output of the export models.

 

Production outside of Japan increased 62.9% year-on-year to 1,380,072 units marking an all-time record for the January-June period.

 

In the U.S., production increased 77.8% year-on-year to 260,773 units.

 

In Mexico, production increased 55.3% year-on-year to 236,139 units.

 

In the U.K., production increased 45.0% year-on-year to 207,611 units.

 

In Spain, production increased 105.6% year-on-year to 47,891 units.

 

In China, production increased 54.8% year-on-year to 487,846 units marking an all-time record for the January-June period.

 

Production in other regions was remarkably up by 109.4% year-on-year to 139,812 units due to increased output in Thailand and Indonesia.

 

2. Sales

June

Global sales increased 23.7% year-on-year to 339,320 units marking an all-time record for the month of June.

 

Including mini-vehicles, Nissan sold 55,823 units in Japan, up 15.6% year-on-year.

 

In Japan, vehicle registrations in June increased 11.5% year-on-year to 43,309 units due to increased demand for the new Juke released in June and Serena.

 

Domestic sales of mini-vehicles were up 32.5% from the previous year to 12,514 units, marking an all-time record for the month of June, boosted by the new Roox released last December.

 

Sales outside of Japan increased 25.5% year-on-year to 283,497 units marking an all-time record for the month of June.

 

Sales in the U.S. increased 10.8% year-on-year to 64,570 units due to increased demand for Nissan Versa, Rogue, and Infiniti G series.

 

In Europe, sales increased 28.0% year-on-year to 53,344 units due to increased demand for Nissan Qashqai and Pixo.

 

In China, sales saw an increase of 39.5% year-on-year to 88,302 units due to increased demand for Nissan Teana, Sylphy and Qashqai marking an all-time record for the month of June.

 

Sales in other regions increased 24.6% year-on-year to 54,824 units.

 

First half: January-June

Global sales increased 29.8% to 2,007,609 units compared to the previous year.

 

Including mini-vehicles, Nissan sold 344,917 units in Japan, up 18.1% year-on-year.

 

In Japan, Nissan's vehicle registrations increased 19.3% year-on-year to 264,039 units due to increased demand for models eligible for the preferential tax exemption such as Serena, Note, X-Trail and the all-new Fuga, which was launched in November last year.

 

Domestic sales of mini-vehicles increased 14.5% year-on-year to 80,878 units due to increased demand for Roox.

 

Sales outside of Japan increased 32.6% year-on-year to 1,662,692 units marking an all-time record for the January-June period.

 

Sales in the U.S. increased 26.6% year-on-year to 440,332 units.

 

Sales in Europe increased 18.5% year-on-year to 270,028 units.

 

In China, sales increased 51.4% year-on-year to 503,077 units marking an all-time record for the January-June period.

 

Sales in other regions increased 34.6% year-on-year to 320,030 units due to increased demand in Thailand and Indonesia.

 

3. Japan Exports

June

Nissan's exports in June increased 42.1% year-on-year to 60,055 units.

 

Exports to North America increased 25.9% year-on-year to 32,415 units due to increased demand for Murano and Rogue.

 

Exports to Europe was up considerably by 101.3% year-on-year to 7,718 units due to strong demand for X-Trail and Murano.

 

First half: January-June

Nissan's exports in January-June increased 76.0% year-on-year to 294,046 units.

 

Exports to North America increased 82.2% year-on-year to 145,497 units.

 

Exports to Europe was remarkably up by 125.0% year-on-year to 30,237 units.
