Nissan has released four new assets for media use as part of its celebrations to mark 10 years of the Qashqai.

 

As the original urban crossover, the Qashqai’s launch in February 2007 pioneered the crossover segment as it’s known today. The car remains Europe’s number one in the segment, with 2.3 million sold in the decade since. Globally, the figure is 3.3 million.

 

Further assets, including an entertaining and engaging new video about the success of the Nissan Qashqai, will be released on Monday 6 February.

 

The four new media assets available from today are:

 

‘The Qashqai story: necessity is the mother of innovation’

This press release explains the history of Nissan’s pioneering crossover, including how and why it was created in Europe. It traces the involvement of Nissan’s planning, design, engineering and manufacturing facilities, and examines the different Qashqai generations which have been launched since 2007. It includes quotes from people – both inside and outside the Nissan business – who were involved at the time, reflecting on the marketing-changing impact which the Qashqai has had.

This visual infographic traces the development of the Qashqai project and its success, from the 2004 concept car to today’s segment-leading, award-winning crossover. It can be published in full (it’s available in multiple languages) or facts can be taken from it.

In short video clips, he explains the reasons behind the Qashqai’s success, how it changed the Nissan business, the impact it has had on the European car market and how Nissan might respond to the challenges of the future.
