Who is Saravanan Meyyappan?
As Vice President of AMIEO Purchasing, Saravanan is responsible for the procurement of vehicle parts, equipment, facilities, and services covering all Nissan entities across Africa, Middle East, India, Europe, and Oceania.
Career History
With a degree in Physics and post-graduate diploma in Plastic Technology, Saravanan began his career as an engineer, before rotating into roles across quality, project management and purchasing.
Saravanan joined the alliance in 2008, taking multiple roles across the purchasing function in RNTBCI India. Moving to Japan in 2015, Saravanan became Asia Supplier Account Manager for exterior trim and safety parts. Moving back to India in 2020, Saravanan took responsibility as Dy Vice President of Alliance Purchasing India. Coming back to Japan in 2021, Saravanan was appointed as Supplier Account Officer for ADAS, Electronic, and Harness parts.
From 2023, considering his wealth of purchasing experience, Saravanan was promoted to vice president becoming Region Purchasing Head of the AMIEO region.
Achievements
As Purchasing Project Manager in India during 2010, Saravanan is particularly proud of leading a successful sourcing programme for a new Datsun model.
