HANOVER (18 September, 2012) -With the widest range of LCVs in the European market, Nissan can supply the ideal vehicle for any commercial need.

From the award-winning NV200 compact van - soon to be augmented by a pure electric version - to the 8t Atleon via pick-up truck, combis, panel vans, box vans, tippers and dropside trucks in a vast array of sizes and capacities, Nissan's LCV division means business.

Among the vehicles on show at Hanover there will be at least one example of each range.

NV400

The newest vehicle in the Nissan commercial vehicle fleet, NV400 has been in sale for less than a year but is already carving out a strong reputation as one of the toughest, most versatile LCVs on the market.

NV400 Launch

Developed in cooperation with Alliance partner Renault, NV400 is dominated by Nissan's now familiar ‘balanced angle strut' face that underlines its rugged work tool ethos. It has its own distinctive bonnet, front wings, headlamps - with integrated daytime running lamps - grille and front bumper.

One of the widest model line-ups on the market, NV400 is available with front or rear-wheel drive, in four different lengths, three different heights and with cargo volumes ranging from 8 to 17 m3 (vans) and 20 to 22 m3 (Box conversion). There are three power options - all based on the respected Alliance 2.3-litre dCi four-cylinder diesel - along with a choice of manual and robotised six-speed transmissions. Power outputs range from 100, through 125 to 150 hp (74, 92 and 107 kW respectively) with torque figures of 285, 310 and 350 Nm respectively.

Key features include low cost of ownership with reduced emissions, excellent fuel economy and extended service intervals. It enjoys high levels of passive and active safety including ABS brakes with EBD and brake assist as standard, ESP standard for rear-wheel drive and optional for front wheel-drive, along with driver, passenger and side airbags.

Despite having been on sale for only a matter of months, Nissan's policy of constant development has already seen some enhancements to the range, notably a further lowering of CO2 emission figures and even stronger fuel economy on the 100hp and 125hp engines.

The improvements follow a series of technical changes to the engine and ancillary equipment, including new oil and power steering pumps, improved thermo-management and revised gearbox oil, as well as the adoption of low rolling resistance tyres.

The result is a substantial fall in emissions, headline figures including CO2 output of 197g/km - a 16 g/km drop - for the 125hp engine while its combined fuel economy has been reduced by 0.6l/100kms. As well as better environmental performance, the changes mean even lower operating costs: it has been estimated that the improvements could mean a saving of as much as €3,000 over three years.

Other changes include a modernised radio range now with USB and Bluetooth connectivity as standard. A smart phone dock is available as an accessory.

Pneumatic suspension is available on front wheel drive vehicles: van, chassis cab, double chassis cab and platform cab versions, while twin wheel RWD 3.5t models now have a 3.5t towing capacity.

Ensuring that customers have the widest possible choice, the 100hp engine is now available on chassis cab, double chassis cab, platform cab and dropside versions. Finally a new range of factory-approved conversions - all backed by the standard Nissan three year warranty - can now be ordered from dealers. They include one way and three way tippers, 20m3 and 22m3 box vans, a seven-seat crew van as well as a dropside flatbed.

Navara

To help business users across Europe struggling in difficult financial times, Nissan is introducing a new, highly affordable, entry-level version of its popular Navara pick-up.

Nissan Navara (2005 - 2015)

It has been carefully developed to offer operators a practical, robust and capable pick-up at a price that's in tune with the times. The new model introduces a lower powered version of the respected 2.5-litre dCi common-rail diesel four-cylinder engine, producing 144hp and 350 Nm of torque.

It has a maximum speed of 168km/h while 0-100km/h takes 13.1 sec. Fuel consumption and CO2 emission figures are 8.4l/100km combined and 222 g/km respectively.

Double Cab versions of the new Navara variant are arriving in showrooms now, while the King Cab is due to arrive in early 2013.

Higher up the range, a special version called Navara Platinum has been introduced to the range, offering useful technology allied to a distinctive look.

Based on the 190hp 2.5-litre dCi model, Navara Platinum builds on the strengths of the tough 4x4 pick-up by adding equipment designed to help the driver, such as satellite navigation and a rear view camera.

To complete the distinctive specification, every Platinum model has a unique matt gunmetal grey finish to elements of the exterior - items like the grille, door mirrors and door handles - which contrast with the four available body colours: black, white, silver and ‘black pepper', the latter being a sophisticated brown-black metallic finish.

In other respects Navara continues to live up to its reputation as one of Europe's best selling pick-ups, bringing passenger car comfort and driving dynamics to the LCV market. Its robust ladder frame chassis and switchable four-wheel drive system - complete with a low ratio transfer box - makes Navara ideally suited to industries such as construction where grip is required under all conditions.

As well as the two four-cylinder diesels, Navara is also available with a technically advanced 3.0-litre V6 diesel engine developing 231hp and 550NM of torque.

Primastar

Nissan's medium-sized van, slotting between NV200 and NV400, is a collaboration with Alliance partner Renault. The latest version was launched just over three years ago and majored on improvements to comfort and convenience - automatic climate control is offered along with Bluetooth connectivity for mobile phones. A diesel particulate filter (DPF) without maintenance has been added to reduce emissions and service intervals extended.

PRIMASTAR 2010

All engine options drive the front wheels and are fully Euro 5 compliant. A pair of 2.0-litre dCi diesels develop 90hp and 115hp respectively.

Primastar's range of engines ensures easy load hauling ability, quiet cruising and vigorous acceleration.

The class-leading 2.0L engines are available with a diesel particulate filter (DPF) that reduces emissions even further, with no fuel consumption penalty. In addition, the torque calibration assures impressive performance on both power levels (260Nm on 90hp and 300Nm on 115hp versions).

Primastar also offers you the opportunity to reduce the environmental impact of your working tool. On Combi and Van with lower height versions of the combi and van featuring OPTI, the newly introduced, optional engine calibration, OPTI, reduces the CO2 emission to the impressive level of 180 g/km with a manual gearbox. The option includes technical improvements to reduce CO2 emissions including new oil and power steering pumps, improved thermo-management and revised gearbox oil, EGR cooling loop as well as the adoption of low rolling resistance tyres.

A modern and innovative van, Primastar has a large cargo area with payloads of up to 1285 kg. As well as a panel van, Primastar is available as a passenger-carrying combi. Primastar is built by Nissan in Barcelona where it is also badged as the Renault Trafic and Opel Vivaro.

Cabstar

Nissan's tough and versatile Cabstar, which is built at Avila in Spain, comes in a wide variety of versions including box vans, tippers and dropside trucks with single cab and double cab offerings and single or twin rear wheels. It is available in three wheelbase lengths with GVW between 2.8 - 4.5t, and best in class payloads of up 2,729kg

CABSTAR

The 2.5, which is available in two versions and 3.0-litre four-cylinder 16 valve direct injection turbo diesel engines - all Euro 5 compliant -and even the more restrictive EEV in case of 3.0-litre - develop 120hp and 140hp (2.5-litre) and 150hp (3.0-litre) Torque figures remain as 250Nm, 270Nm and 350Nm respectively.

All Cabstar engines now have a dual regeneration DPF as standard: as well as automatic regeneration, operators can operate the system manually if they are unable to run the vehicle at 60km/h for the required 30 minutes or when it better suits their operating timetable. Manual regeneration takes around 20 minutes.

Other changes to the vehicle include a new maintenance-free propshaft and larger clutch, a fuel cooling system and revised exhaust. A limited slip differential is also now available. Visual changes include a new front bumper and revised badging while the cabin benefits from enhanced noise insulation and from a revised ventilation system.

Lower running costs have been helped by extended service intervals - now at 40,000kms in the case of 2.5-litre engines - while changes to the final drive and engine efficiency  have resulted in fuel consumption improvements of up to 8 per cent.

Despite the vehicle's compact overall dimensions -- making it ideal for city centre deliveries - its cargo capacity is among the best in class, while the roomy cabin and excellent forward visibility make it easy to manoeuvre.

, Cabstar also has a host of features or options more usually found in passenger cars. Easy Hill Start (EHS) is a practical safety feature preventing roll back on hill starts while as well as keyless entry, electric windows and air conditioning, Cabstar now has the option of the highly effective, yet highly affordable Nissan Connect touch screen satellite navigation and communication system.

The system also incorporates TMC (Traffic Message Channel), Bluetooth telephone connectivity and Aux-In and USB slots, allowing music held on a memory stick or an MP3/iPod to be played through Cabstar's sound system.

Atleon

The biggest truck offered by Nissan in Europe, Atleon is one of the most versatile vehicles on the road and is favoured by the professional driver. Popular with conversion specialists, Atleon, which is built at Avila in Spain, can be adapted to suit almost any requirement.

Robust, and with a strong Nissan identity, Atleon hasis available in a wide model range with wheelbase from 2800 to 4400 mm, GVW from 3.5t to 8t, payloads up to 4925 kg and a maximum body length up to 6580 mm. Two four-cylinder common rail turbodiesel engine options are available, a 3.0-litre with 150hp and 350Nm and a 4.5-litre developing 185hp and 700Nm of torque. Both are Euro 5 compliant, and even the more restrictive EEV is reached in case of 3.0-litre engine.

Like Cabstar, a dual regeneration DPF is now standard (3.0-litre engined models), allowing drivers to operate the system manually when it better suits their timetable. Changes have been made to engine and final drive ratio to the benefit of fuel economy.. and CO2 emissions, reaching up to 7.8% of improvement.
