Matthew Ewing is the Vice President of Vehicle Engineering for Nissan AMIEO, overseeing engineering teams at Nissan Technological Centre Europe (NTCE), which manages the development and lifecycle of all Nissan models produced at Nissan Manufacturing UK (NMUK). Matthew began his career at Nissan in 1988 during an industrial placement as part of his undergraduate studies. Upon graduation, he joined Nissan's testing team, focusing on ergonomics and interior components. He progressed through various roles, including safety system testing and seat design, before moving into a managerial role in 2000 at Nissan's Global Technical Centre in Japan.
In 2005, Matthew established Nissan's Quality Engineering Function, focusing on accelerating quality improvements for future vehicles. Matthew was appointed Vice President for Vehicle Engineering in 2018. In 2021, Matthew's responsibilities were expanded to include oversight of Vehicle Development Project Management and responsibility as Chief Vehicle Engineer for the Nissan JUKE.
